WTF - What The Frick?

Firstly, my phone isn't 5G and will stop working soon.  Landlines here are going to be replaced by VOIP.

Is the cable that is the current phone socket going to need to be replaced? What do you need to install for VOIP?

I have a Uniphone 1150 Textphone with https://www.relayuk.bt.com/ in the past.

I'd been led to believe that a Text Number would forward SMS messages to my actual phone.  I know by testing, this doesn't happen even though I'd seen that information before COVID, despite it now being 2025 - the SMS messages don't get forwarded from Text Number to a regular Mobile Number.

I've also had some problems with people calling me, not remembering/realising I have a hearing disability.  A few saying they'd left me a voicemail, even though my phone didn't have voicemail, so they have called a different number.  Also while waiting a long time in a waiting room, people letting me know my phone is ringing and they've not figured out that I've not answered it because I can't hear it ringing or use a phone.

I've realised that a few items I was expecting in the post, have never arrived and in the last few days, received some letters that should have been delivered between four to six weeks ago.

Unless a system starts were I can use BSL (British Sign Language) instead of typing in English, I'm phone-less and the only way of contacting me is via email and this site.

Due to missing and very late postal deliveries, I would appreciate you getting touch here rather than assume the Royal Mail can deliver your letter within a few days.
